Welcome to Bacon Brain
This is the launch page for a new and innovative Self-diagnostic Assesment platform, a suite of games, targeted at improving English language skills using fun and interactive evaluation tools.
Filler Elevator.
The idea that started it all.
Filler Elevator is the title of the first of many self-diagnostic language learning tests, implemented as a game. It’s aim is to help English learners self-assess and evaluate filler word usage, a specific area critical to improving fluency and conversational flow. The game is going to be accessible via the Speaking Skill section of a mobile application called Bacon Brain, which will later include games and self-diagnostic assessment tools to support solo language learning in Writing and Reading Skills as well.

Example Review
Here you can see the start screen for Filler Elevator. Each floor of the elevator shaft is equivalent to one level. When the user taps the next locked level, a monologue prompt will be assigned and the level started, recording the user’s speech for 60 seconds. Notice the third button from the left on the bottom middle panel: clicking it leads to the overview of past level attempts, linked to the individual reviews, an example of which is shown in image 4.

Filler Elevator is a gamified digital Self-Siagnostic Assessment Tool designed to help learners improve English speaking fluency by reducing excessive filler word usage. Combining AI-powered speech recognition and analysis with gamification principles, the app offers an interactive, motivating experience where users deliver 60-second monologues during a simulated elevator ride. Players must keep filler words (e.g., "um," "like," "you know") below a set percentage threshold to ascend through increasingly challenging levels and monologue prompts.
The application provides real-time feedback during play, personalized performance reports after completing a level, and visual dashboards that track progress across sessions. Celebratory animations, evolving visual themes (from office buildings to outer space), and audio effects create an immersive experience that maintains engagement and motivation. By diagnosing individual filler word patterns and offering actionable insights, Filler Elevator empowers learners to develop smoother, clearer, and more confident speaking skills.
Built on strong diagnostic assessment principles and inspired by techniques like Toastmasters' "Ah-Counter," Filler Elevator bridges the gap between traditional language evaluation and real-world communication needs, fostering sustainable fluency improvement through focused, enjoyable practice.
